EDWARD ROGERS featuring George Usher

Only New York Show This Year
Mitch Easter, popular '80s band Let’s Active’s
songwriter and guitarist, will be making a rare New York appearance at
Joe’s Pub on Tuesday, November 28. Also known as an excellent producer
(REM, Suzanne Vega), Easter will be joined for this special New York performance
by drummer, Eric Marshall and bass player, Shalini
Chatterjee. Easter and his band will be offering up their own
distinctive pop/rock sound, which, while referencing a familiar, tried
and true melodic jangle, ultimately proves to be its own thing!
Opening act Edward Rogers (Bedsit Poets), accompanied
by songwriter George Usher (Laura Cantrell’s “Not
The Tremblin’ Kind, Richard Barone’s “River To River”)
and a crack group of New York musicians, will debut songs from his upcoming
solo album, “You Haven’t Been Where I’ve Been”.
Two years in the making, it showcases the amazing, eclectic pop songwriting
of the Rogers/Usher team. Featuring a string section, this will be the
first opportunity to hear the follow-up to Rogers’ highly acclaimed
solo debut, Sunday Fables, described by Amplifier
as “a precious jewel of a record, one that combines ringing, pop
with lilting, folky melodies and some gorgeous chamber-pop leanings…”
A few advance copies of “You Haven’t Been Where I’ve
Been” will be available for sale at the show.
